January 25, 2025A significant meeting, led by APMIA Chairman Muhammad Bilal Khan, was held at the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Head Office in Islamabad. The meeting aimed to establish collaboration for providing advanced training to the workforce in the mining and processing sectors.
The APMIA delegation included Senior Vice Chairman Mian Irfan Zafar, Former Chairmen Muhammad Shakeel Munir, Asghar Khan UtmanKhel, Sheikh Muhammad Rizwan, Ilyas Muhammad, Zonal Vice Chairman (Mardan) Nihad Ali, Zonal Vice Chairman (Jahangira/Khairabad) Amjad Ali Afridi, Zonal Vice Chairman (Malakand) Akmal Khan, Senior Member Mian Farrukh Munir, Muhammad Farhan Khan, and Mukarram Shah. From NAVTTC, Executive Director Muhammad Amir Jan, DG Planning Shafiq Hussain Dogar, National Coordinator Shoaib Shehzad, Labor Economist Dr. Lubna Shehnaz, Deputy Director Ahmed Kamal, and other officials were present.
The meeting concluded with an agreement that APMIA will nominate 10 zones throughout the country to NAVTTC for the development of skilled labor in the mining and processing sectors. Factories and industries within these zones will be declared as training institutes. Additionally, it was agreed to appoint two focal persons from the North and South zones, based on the recommendation of the APMIA Chairman, to ensure effective coordination.
On this occasion, Muhammad Bilal Khan (Chairman APMIA) and Muhammad Amir Jan (Executive Director NAVTTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU outlines a framework for collaboration between APMIA and NAVTTC, focusing on skill development in the dimension stone industry, advanced training in mining, processing, and value addition and creating employment opportunities for youth.
This government supported initiative aims to modernize Pakistan’s Dimension Stone Industry and strengthen the national economy. Executive Director NAVTTC Muhammad Amir Jan assured the government’s full support for promoting skill development tailored to the needs of the dimension stone industry.
