October 15, 2023“Successful 2nd SEMINAR on Marble & Granite Export Awareness in Mohmand Economic Zone”
October 25, 2023Mardan, Pakistan: In a historic event at Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan (AWKUM), a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between AWKUM and the All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA) during a seminar that took place today. Dr. Muhammad Jehangir, Director of IBL at AWKUM, and Chairman Asghar Khan Utmankhel of APMIA, inked the agreement with a vision of mutual cooperation in the realms of higher education and pioneering research in the marble and granite sector.
The MoU encompasses a range of collaborative endeavors, including exploring research projects that benefit both parties, establishing effective communication channels, organizing conferences and seminars for research dissemination, and fostering activities that mutually enhance their missions. Moreover, APMIA has committed to accommodating interns recommended by AWKUM, providing them with opportunities to apply their academic knowledge.
Additionally, AWKUM is set to provide valuable support in minerals exploration, minerals testing through laboratory services, and enhancing APMIA members’ management and digital marketing capabilities.
In the second part of this enlightening seminar, industry leaders and experts gathered to discuss and raise awareness about marble and granite exports in the Mardan and Nowshera Zone. Notable speakers included:

A highlight of the event was the presence of the Guest Speaker, Engr. Said Muhammad, Vice Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment & Trade (KPBOIT), who shared invaluable insights into the industry’s potential and investment opportunities.
The seminar undoubtedly marks a milestone in advancing awareness and collaboration regarding exports within the marble and granite sector, setting the stage for industry progress and growth. Furthermore, during the seminar, shields were distributed among AWKUM, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and APMIA representatives in recognition of their efforts in arranging such a fruitful seminar.
